This dataset provides ecological significance and pressure data along the Canadian Great Lakes coastal margin. Derived from the Canadian Great Lakes Coastal Habitat Survey, measures of ecological significance and pressure are summarized in 60 coastal units, with a corresponding combined score that assigns each coastal unit into one of four groups: higher ecological significance/higher pressure, higher ecological significance/lower pressure, lower ecological significance/higher pressure, and lower ecological significance/lower pressure. Spatial and tabular data is presented at the Canadian Great Lakes basin scale, and by the Mixedwood Plains and Boreal Shield ecozones. These data support the identification of priority coastal areas for conservation, protection, and restoration across the Great Lakes coastal margin (approximately 2 km inland).
