Skills and Competencies Taxonomy Data (SCT) 2025 -Version 1.0

The Skills and Competencies Taxonomy (SCT) streamlines the terminology of hundreds of occupational descriptors used in the labour market. Each descriptor is associated with one of the seven categories (skills, abilities, personal attributes, knowledge, interests, work context and work activities), which are then further divided into sub-categories. The SCT is one of the two pillars of the Occupational and Skills Information System (OaSIS), which provides measurement indicators for most descriptors in the Taxonomy across more than 900 occupations. The 2025 version of the SCT was updated to remove all Oxford commas, correct syntax errors, and implement both minor and major changes to labels and descriptor definitions for clarification. Significant changes were made to the Work Activities section as a result of the ongoing development of task statements by profile for the OaSIS. Many labels and descriptor definitions were clarified, and twelve descriptors were removed because they were not mutually exclusive and overlapped with others.
