Sub-Area + Neighbourhood Plan Completion | Squamish Community Dashboard This indicator tracks the number of completed sub-area neighbourhood plans adopted by the District of Squamish in the reporting year. Sub-area plans are detailed plans for a defined area in the Official Community Plan (OCP) that apply to an existing (or future) neighbourhood or group of neighbourhoods. Where designated, sub-area plans are required prior to major new development to identify and develop a comprehensive plan for land use, density, environmental protection, neighbourhood design, transportation, municipal servicing and public amenities. About this target: Seven existing sub-areas have been identified in the Squamish2040 OCP for neighbourhood planning (Schedule C) to be initiated over time. One sub-area or neighbourhood plan is completed every two years, or as resources allow. The District set intention to undertake and complete a sub-area planning for two residential neighbourhoods by 2022 (Loggers East and Garibaldi Estates, or other neighbourhood) per Council's Strategic Plan.
