Annual Active Transportation Capital Investments | Squamish Community Dashboard About this indicator: This measure tracks the District's annual municipal budget line item allocated towards Active Transportation capital projects for walking and cycling infrastructure each year. It includes annual transportation capital investments, as well as grant-funded projects, Development Cost Charge funds, and any contributed assets from Community Amenity Contributions. Analysis: In 2022-24 the community invested significantly in Active Transportation projects, with total capital investments and contributions of $1.3M in 2022, $2.8M in 2023, and $850,000 in 2024. Recent project highlights include: • Protected bike lanes on Mamquam Drive, • Corridor Trail extension along Tantalus Road • New sidewalk on Perth Drive • Protected bike lanes on Highlands Way South • Multi-use pathway and safety upgrades on Garibaldi Way between Highway 99 and Tantalus Road • New multi-use pathway to the Sp’akw'us Feather Park • New mutli-use pathway on Pioneer Way and more.
