Wildlife Attractant Bylaw Violations | Squamish Community Dashboard This indicator tracks the annual number of District of Squamish Wildlife Attractant Bylaw Offence Notices (BONs) and Notices of Infractions (NOIs) issued per year in relation to improperly stored attractants. The number of Wildlife Attractant BONs and NOIs provides insights into attractant availability and guides educational and awareness efforts. While this indicator does not provide an absolute representation of human-wildlife conflicts, it is an important component to assess both successes and areas for improvement. By using proactive bylaw enforcement management, communities can reduce conflicts between humans and bears by identifying and eliminating the root causes of the conflicts. About this target: Progressively reduce the availability of wildlife attractants through community-wide education and enforcement of the Wildlife Attractant Bylaw. Analysis: I n 2024, the District issued 151 Wildlife Attractant BONs (notices) and 109 NOIs (warnings).
