Fire Dispatch Areas
Fire Dispatch Areas are based on drive time analysis. Fire trucks are dispatched from the City of Victoria's three fire halls in order, based on the expected drive time to reach a destination point. The run order dispatches trucks starting from the shortest to longest expected drive time. Drive time analysis was conducted by GIS Analysts at FDM Software, for the purpose of implementing Computer Aided Dispatch with FDM Software. This layer is used in our Emergency Services Mapping. Fire Dispatch Areas are updated manually as needed. Note: Attributes represent each field in a dataset, and some fields will contain information such as ID numbers. As a result some visualizations on the tabs on our Open Data page will not be relevant.
