Report on the administration of the Privacy Act
The Privacy Act (the Act) was enacted on July 1, 1983. The Act provides Canadian citizen and permanent residents the right of access to their own personal information under the control of a government institution, and with a right to request correction of their personal information. The Act also sets out the obligations of government institutions regarding the collection, use, disclosure, retention and disposal of personal information they hold. The following annual reports detail the activities related to the application of the Act in Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. Pursuant to section 72 of the Act, these were tabled in each House of Parliament.
