The mapping of areas of constraint relating to coastal erosion as well as the mapping of areas of constraint relating to coastal erosion and land movements (ZEMT) locate the parts of territory where the standards relating to coastal erosion and land movements, prescribed by the Government of Quebec, must apply. Coastal erosion constraint areas include only one type of zone, zone E. This type of zone extends inland from a georeferenced coastline. Essentially, this constraint zone corresponds to the plots of land that must be governed, due to the setback that the coast could suffer as a result of coastal erosion. ZEMTs include protective bands where different interventions must be regulated. These constraint zones correspond to the land plots that must be governed, due to the retreat that the coast could suffer under the effect of coastal erosion and/or that could be carried away by a ground movement or reached by the debris of a ground movement generated by coastal erosion. It should be noted that this mapping delimits the areas exposed only to coastal hazards and that the rest of the territory is not the subject of this mapping.
