This report presents findings from a national baseline survey of Canadian attitudes toward international trade. Conducted to support Global Affairs Canada’s Trade Diversification Strategy, it provides insight into how Canadians perceive the economic, social, and environmental impacts of trade, the role of government, relations with the U.S., and trade with developing countries. The survey is intended to guide trade communicators in shaping messaging and outreach so that the benefits and opportunities of trade are understood as more broadly shared among Canadians.
