Purpose: to determine relationships between birds and riparian habitats. Point count routes were placed along the edge of riparian systems within 75 m of the stream or wetland with points spaced 150 to 200 m apart. Each count was 10 minutes long. During each point count, all birds detected by sight or sound within 75 m of the observer were recorded. Birds further than 75 m from the observer were also recorded, but excluded from analysis. All counts were conducted between 4:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Complete bilingual metadata including detailed survey design, protocols and data dictionaries are available in downloadable files.
