Treasury Board’s Directive on Automated Decision-Making mandates the use of the Algorithmic Impact Assessment (AIA) tool to evaluate the risks and potential impacts associated with automated decision-making systems. Additional information on the structure and use of the AIA, including how to interpret the scoring and impact levels assigned by the tool, can be found at the Algorithmic Impact Assessment tool website. As part of its Human Capital Management Portfolio, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is launching production of the Compensation Virtual Assistant (CVA). The CVA is a search tool that validates Compensation Advisors inquiries against approved policies and generates clear, structured summaries including links to the original document. This reduces the time required to review and resolve pay cases and minimizes the need for manual searches through multiple documents such as Collective Bargaining Agreements, Terms & Conditions, Directives, and Pay Rate Implementation Bulletins.
