This report presents the results of archaeological research undertaken by Parks Canada’s Underwater Archaeology Team (UAT) in 2019 at the wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. The main archaeological objectives for 2019 were to continue the non-intrusive evaluation of the Terror site, mostly using a micro-remotely operated vehicle. For Erebus, the goals were to initiate test excavation of specific areas of the lower deck, meanwhile exploring other undocumented spaces deeper inside the hull. Mainly on account of exceptionally good weather conditions, most of the 2019 objectives were successfully completed.
