Amendments, Changes of Name and Adoptions

This data set contains the total number of amendments (amendments are requests by individuals to correct a registration document on which they have made an error), formal changes of name, and adoptions registered by the Office of the Registrar General. The data set begins in 1992 and contains data to the most recently published annual report. The Office of the Registrar General (ORG) is responsible for maintaining vital statistics for the province of Ontario. The data provided represents the total number of completed registrations as of a specific date, tabulated or filtered by the given variables, and includes both residents and non-residents of Ontario (unless otherwise stated). This information is released in compliance with the Vital Statistics Act R.S.O. 1990, c. V. 4. Please note that the ORG does not guarantee the suitability, completeness or accuracy of the information.
