Passport Canada’s National Integrated Interagency Information (N-III) Integrated Query Tool (IQT) - Privacy Impact Assessment: Global Affairs Canada

The Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) was developed as part of the Department’s commitment to protection of personal information. It also meets the Management of Information Technology Security requirements obligating departmental major services to undergo a security and privacy assessment at this point. As an agency of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT), Passport Canada (PPTC) administers the issuance, refusal of issuance, revocation, withholding, recovery and use of Canadian passports, including the refusal and withholding of passport services. PPTC plays an important role in the safety and security community and in Canada’s national security, through the administration and enforcement of Canadian Passport Order (CPO) which can be found at Canadian Passport Order (SI/81-86). It is PPTC’s mission to issue secure Canadian travel documents through authentication of identity and entitlement, facilitating travel and contributing to international and domestic security.
