GC HR and Pay - Artificial Intelligence (AI) Virtual Assistant

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has developed a “Virtual Assistant” pilot using artificial intelligence (AI) to help fix data discrepancies in pay and compensation services for departments and agencies served by the Pay Centre. Initially developed in 2024, the Virtual Assistant was a case advisory tool that used technology to improve data management processes and prioritize finding, sorting, and correcting data, all while keeping a human in the loop. The goal of the Virtual Assistant was to quickly sort and connect large amounts of information from various data streams to help compensation agents process cases more quickly. The scope and direction of the AIVA initiative have evolved throughout the pilot process.
