Ambient Air Quality Criteria

Access the List of Ambient Air Quality Criteria (AAQC) set by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks. An AAQC is not a regulatory value. It is a concentration of a contaminant in air that is protective against adverse effects on health and/or the environment. AAQCs are used to assess general (ambient) air quality resulting from all sources of a contaminant to air. AAQCs are most commonly used in environmental assessments, special studies using ambient air monitoring data, assessment of general air quality in a community and annual reporting on air quality across the province.
