Controlled Parentage Program

Controlled Parentage Programs (CPPs) are species-specific stock production programs that define seed movement guidelines and deployment rules, distinct from natural stand seed movement guidelines. Improved material deployment is managed through CPP regions, each representing a target deployment area for a single species. Production of deployment stock for the program occurs in a production facility (such as a seed orchard or stoolbed) where parents are propagated vegetatively or sexually.
