Algorithmic Impact Assessment Results - Administrative Activities Support Tool
The Administrative Activities Support Tool (AAST) is a processing aid that supports staff in completing administrative tasks for immigration applications, including data-matching and bulk email creation. Two of the modules are in scope of the Treasury Board Directive on Automated Decision Making. The Biometric and Medical modules of the AAST use index matching of lists of biographical information between the biometric enrolments and immgration medical examinations, and applications pending those assessments. This helps ensure that biometric enrollments and medical assessments are connected to immigration applications in a timely manner. AAST uses natural data points in processing. AAST does not interact with other systems and does not contain a black box algorithm. AAST does not make a decision on behalf of an employee, it makes a recommendation on matching assessments to applications.
