Mother Tongues

Contained within the 4th Edition (1974) of the Atlas of Canada is a set of three maps. The main map shows the mother tongues of the population for 1961 by percentage of census division. This map is accompanied by a second map showing Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec at a larger scale of 1:5 000 000. The third map shows the mother tongues by percentage of population for each province and territory at a scale of 1:30 000 000. As well, this last map includes a brief textual summary for Canada.
