Social Assistance Recipient Subgroups and Characteristics, 2019-20 to 2022-23

This dataset contains data on recipients of social assistance in Ontario belonging to selected subgroups as well as selected characteristics of recipients. It contains counts of cases receiving Ontario Works or ODSP income support with children under age 6 as well as the number of consecutive months that cases were in receipt of social assistance for fiscal year 2019-20 to 2022-23. This dataset also contains counts of Ontario Works and ODSP beneficiaries belonging to selected subgroups such as youth, Indigenous and francophone recipients and recipients reporting employment earnings for fiscal year(1) 2019-20 to 2022-23. The dataset shows monthly averages by Consolidated Municipal Service Manager (CMSM) or District Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) for Ontario Works and catchment area. For ODSP, this dataset shows monthly averages grouped by local office within MCCSS administrative regions and catchment areas.
