Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) - Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Data by Facility

The Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) collects information on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually from facilities across Canada. Reporting is mandatory for facilities that meet the program’s requirements. Facilities that emit 10 kilotonnes or more of GHGs, in carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂ eq.) units, per year must report their emissions to Environment and Climate Change Canada. The emissions data are available in two files, each presenting emissions by different breakdowns and provided in .xlsx and .csv formats for convenient downloads. The Emissions by Gas file (PDGES-GHGRP-GHGEmissionsGES-2004-Present): covers data from 2004 to the present year (i.e. latest data available) contains total emissions (in tonnes and tonnes of CO₂ eq.) for each facility and for each greenhouse gas type, including carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), nitrous oxide (N₂O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), perfluorocarbons (PFC), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆). Includes CO₂ from biomass combustion The Emissions by Source file (PDGES-GHGRP-GHGEmissionsSourcesGES-2022-Present): covers data from 2022 to the present year (i.e. latest data available) contains GHG emissions data (in tonnes and tonnes of…
