2025—Report of the Auditor General of Canada—Annual Report on the Privacy Act

The Privacy Act gives individuals the right to access information about themselves that is held by the government, subject to certain specific and limited exceptions. It also protects individuals’ privacy by giving them substantial control over the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information, and by preventing others from accessing that information. The Auditor General must report annually to Parliament on the implementation of the Privacy Act within the Office.
