2021 Census: Education, Employment & Commuting (Neighbourhoods)

This layer includes data from Statistics Canada 2021 Census of Population with a focus on the City of Kingston Neighbourhoods. This summary highlights data based on indicators of education, employment and commuting from the 2021 Census of Population. Education indicators refer to types of certificates and major fields of study; Employment indicators describe the characteristics of the labour force; and Commuting indicators outline the transportation variables for the employed workforce. Custom geography census profiles, including Electoral Districts and Neighbourhood‑level profiles, are created entirely from the long‑form (25% sample) census database. Standard geography census profiles for the Kingston CMA and CSD geographies use information from both the short‑form (100% sample) and long‑form databases, depending on the variable. To protect respondent confidentiality, all Census data is processed using Statistics Canada’s Random Rounding method. This technique randomly adjusts numbers up or down to the nearest 0 or 5, helping ensure privacy while keeping overall results as accurate and unbiased as possible.
