Below are the descriptions of the classifications for the road network: Commence Work Issued : Road currently under construction. Not officially open to public traffic. Open to Traffic : Final granular or first lift of asphalt laid. Road is now open to public traffic. Some City services on road could be in effect (public roads). Operational : Warranty period expired. City has assumed public road asset. Also applies to private roads – maintenance agreement in place, by-law passed, final approval of Site Plan or Subdivision obtained. Closed to Traffic : Temporary closure for maintenance purposes, i.e., closure period has distinct start and end dates.
