Immunization Coverage and Philosophical Exemption Rates by School 2018 2019

Summary of overall immunization coverage and philosophical exemption rates, according to Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA), by school in Ottawa for school year 2018-19. Accuracy : Points of consideration for interpretation of the data: • Only schools from the four public boards within the catchment for Ottawa Public Health (OPH) were included • Schools with enrollment <10 students are excluded for privacy reasons • Data was extracted at the end of the school immunization surveillance period for each school board (March - May 2019) • Coverage reflects students who are not overdue for all ISPA designated vaccines according to their age • Birth cohorts included are 2001-2014 • % Coverage for a given school was estimated as the # of students compliant with ISPA for their age - # of students with an exemption (medical, philosophical, administrative) / number of students enrolled at the school • Students with a medical exemption due to documented immunity are not included in the % covered • Data is only reflective of records and updates that are reported to OPH • Abbreviations: JK – junior kindergarten, M – maternelle (FR) Update Frequency : Annually, at the end of the school…
