Security guard and private investigator basic training providers

All new security guards and private investigators must complete a basic training course. Find a list of basic training providers, their location, telephone number and type of training they provide. The Ministry of the Solicitor General does not endorse nor recommend any trainer or training program. Interested applicants should do their own research when choosing a training provider. Security guard and private investigator basic training may only be provided at: * career colleges * community colleges * licensed agencies * registered employers * public universities Some businesses that employ their own security guards or private investigators offer them basic training directly. Employers can only provide this training to their own employees and prospective employees. Organizations should ensure that their training is in compliance with the training and testing regulation and training syllabi for security guards and private investigators under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005.
