Moose population monitoring summaries

This data set contains the results of moose aerial inventory surveys we collect each winter across parts of Ontario. These surveys are used to: * monitor moose populations * support moose harvest planning * inform natural resource policies The dataset contains information on: * survey year * survey location * survey type * survey precision * sampling effort * population size * herd composition Moose populations are estimated based on a sample of plots and are subject to statistical error. We may update data periodically as errors are identified and corrected. Additional technical and statistical notes are provided in the data dictionary. Learn more about moose populations.
