Sidewalk condition rating 2021

Sidewalk condition data, collected in 2021, is used to report the overall sidewalk condition index (SCI) at the network level and expresses the overall condition of a sidewalk segment by considering surface distresses identified manually in the field. Distresses were collected as point data. Distress points were averaged to reflect the overall SCI for the entire width and length of the sidewalk segment. The City plans to collect sidewalk condition data every 4 years. The City used American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) D6433 standard as a reference and customized the surface distress rating for calculating the SCI. Limitations: Sidewalks that are shorter than 60m or longer than 150m may have skewed scores. Condition rating for non-standard sidewalk lengths may vary. Some blocks have no condition rating and are not shown. Reasons for this include: no sidewalk present, temporarily inaccessible sidewalk at time of inspection, not City-managed, data processing issues, etc. Note PCI Rating Descriptions: Very Good: The asset is fit for the future.
