This study investigated the effect that municipal wastewater effluents (MWWEs) have on hepatic lipid metabolism and oxidative stress of Northern pike (Esox lucius) sampled both upstream and downstream of an effluent discharge location in the St. Lawrence River, at Montreal, Quebec, Canada from mid-June to mid-July 2022. Findings of this study suggest that chronic exposures to this fish may have sex-specific effects on liver lipid content and composition, as well as the transcription of genes involved in lipid metabolism. A manuscript detailing the methods, QA/QC, discussion, and conclusion based on these data has been submitted for peer review and will be published soon. The citation will be provided once available.
