This dataset is associated with the article authored by Christine Martineau, Julien Beguin, Armand Séguin and David Paré " Cumulative effects of disturbances on soil nutrients: predominance of antagonistic short-term responses to the salvage logging of insect-killed stands". It comprises 24 plots (experimental units) located both in Montmorency Forest and in the Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier (47°19' N, 71°09' W). The study contained four different levels of disturbance treatment (defoliated, logged, defoliated and logged, and undisturbed controls). Each level of treatment was replicated six times. The database includes information on the FH layer and on the top 0-15cm mineral soil sampled in 2016. The measured variables are total carbon, nitrogen and sulfur content, pH, ammonium, nitrate and dissolved organic nitrogen, available phosphorus and exchangeable cations.
