he dashboard includes two inventories: Corporate emissions from City operations like buildings, fleet, solid waste, and wastewater. Community emissions which come from key sectors such as buildings, transportation, waste and agriculture. These inventories capture both direct and indirect emissions and follow internationally accepted accounting principles to ensure consistent and transparent reporting. As approved in the Climate Change Master Plan (CCMP) Council’s long-term targets are to reduce community emissions by 100 per cent by 2050 (net-zero) and corporate emissions by 100 per cent by 2040 with 2012 as the baseline year. A baseline year is a reference point in time against which emissions or performance metrics are measured over the years. The interim targets for the corporate emissions are 2025 (30 per cent reduction), 2030 (50 per cent), and 2040 (100 per cent). These targets for the community emissions are 2025 (43 per cent), 2030 (68 per cent), 2040 (96 per cent), and 2050 (100 per cent).
