EV Fleet Vehicles | Squamish Community Dashboard This indicator measures the number of District of Squamish fleet vehicles that are fully electric. The total number of fleet vehicles excludes trailers, includes BP arena ice machines. About this target: 20% of fleet vehicles to be electric or similarly low carbon by 2030. Electrification of larger vehicles as technology allows. Analysis: This information is collected through the fleet manager. The proportion of electric vehicles (EVs) in the District's fleet has risen to 14%, and there is also consideration of using propane as a fuel for existing internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to decrease emissions. Several fleet vehicles were replaced this year, however electric models were not available (pick up trucks, excavator). Overall vehicle count has decreased. Reason for monitoring: Transportation accounts for 53% of community GHG emissions, and 'Decarbonize Transportation' is one of 6 Big Moves in the Community Climate Action Plan (CCAP).
