These gridded daily maximum, minimum, and mean temperature datasets (CanGridT dlyV4), as well as their monthly means (CanGridT mlyV4), were generated by interpolating the fourth generation of homogenized daily and monthly surface air temperature data (named CanHomT V4 and also available on this portal; Wan et al., 2025) onto a 10-km EASE grid using a kriging-based gridding scheme (Abbasnezhadi and Wang, 2024; Cheng, 2025). Ordinary kriging was used to grid the stations’ 1961-1990 climatology and temperature anomalies separately. This approach ensures that the resulting gridded dataset contains both temperature values and anomalies, with the temperature values obtained by adding the climatology and anomalies at each grid point. Monthly gridded data are available starting from 1948, and daily data from 1949. These version 4 datasets succeed CanGridT mlyV3.1 and CanGridT dlyV3.1, also available on this portal.
