The Special Committee on Governance was established by City Council at its meeting on December 4, 2018, to consider the impacts on the City's governance structures and decision-making processes that resulted from the reduction in the size of Council. In keeping with a work plan and engagement strategy approved by the Special Committee on Governance, City staff conducted public consultations. The responses from a survey, open to the public from June 1 until July 27, 2019, are included in this data set. The survey was broadly advertised and accessible on the www.toronto.ca/TOgovernance website. In the survey, respondents were asked what was working and what needed improvement with respect to Council's decision-making bodies and processes, as well as city-led and community-led civic engagement processes. The survey included multiple-choice and open-ended questions.
