The information included in this dataset lists the legal department names of organizations detailed in Schedules I, I.1, and II of the Financial Administration Act that were authorized to use the Consolidated Revenue Fund and interface with the central systems operated by Public Services and Procurement Canada, along with the corresponding department numbers that were assigned to these organizations by the Receiver General. The source for this information is the Government-wide chart of accounts for Canada website. As of August 2025, this dataset now also includes a historical, fiscal-year-specific view of how this departmental information has evolved since 2006/2007, in addition to the file containing the current, active mapping only.
