This statistical table illustrates the number of reduced pensions (annual allowances) and lump-sum payments that became payable to men and women. The table also illustrates the average dollar amount for the allowance and the amount of lump-sum payments for each calendar year. ‘Reduced Pensions’ includes deferred annual allowances. A deferred annual allowance is a deferred annuity that is reduced because of early payment. ‘Lump-Sum Payments’ includes transfer values, returns of contributions, amounts transferred to other pension plans under pension transfer agreements, and amounts transferred under the Pension Benefits Division Act.
