A certificate is required from sellers and users of pesticides who work in the sectors of activity described in the Regulation Respecting Permits and Certificates for the Sale and Use of Pesticides. First certificate request To obtain a certificate relating to the sale or use of pesticides, any person must have previously passed the examination prescribed or recognized by the Minister of the Environment, the Fight against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks. Prescribed exams are those that have been specifically developed in order to obtain the certificate. The prescribed exams, courses and learning guides relating to the use and sale of pesticides were designed and prepared by the Société de formation à distance des commissions scolaires du Québec (SOFAD) with the collaboration of the Ministry. Recognized exams are offered as part of a post-secondary program of studies, namely a professional, college or university program. These exams are recognized for obtaining certain categories or sub-categories of certificates.
