This study assessed the chronic toxicity of lead from recreational fishing gear, in comparison to lead nitrate (the reference toxicant), in a stunted multigenerational study. Toxicity of lead fishing gear was assessed in adult snails, in embryos from unexposed parents, and embryos from exposed parents. To investigate the potential effects of climate change, the combined effects of lead and temperature on snail embryo development were also assessed.
