A targeted survey analysed 1149 samples of ready-to-eat fresh-cut fruits for the presence of Hepatitis A virus and Norovirus GI and GII. Hepatitis A virus RNA was detected in 3 samples and Norovirus GII RNA was detected in 2 samples. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency conducted appropriate follow-up activities. No illnesses were reported in association with any of the positive samples and no product recalls were required.
